Better Than Organic

Since the introduction of ready-made meals in the 1950's, and the expansion of monoculture farming after World War II, human health has been on a steady decline. Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and many other diseases are at an all-time high. These changes in our health are directly related to the way we grow and prepare food. High fat, high sugar, low nutrient diets have been normalized. Clean, healthy diets of high nutrient, naturally grown foods have become the exception.

All health begins in the soil. Soil health determines the nutrient value of our food, which in turn directly impacts on our bodies and our minds. The importance of this relationship cannot be overstated. Healthy soil equals healthy crops and livestock. Crops from regenerative farms are far richer in all nutrients than conventionally raised crops. Livestock are healthier, happier and yield meat and eggs with greater nutritional value, more good fats and less saturated fat.

Modern farming rips nutrients from the soil and releases carbon into the atmosphere. Regenerative farming promotes nutrients in soil and protects microorganisms. Soil on regenerative farms contains three times the carbon of conventionally utilized soil. Regenerative agriculture has the potential to sequester more than 150% of worldwide carbon emissions. Regenerative acres are far more resistant to erosion, drought and pests, without the use of chemicals.

Only 1.5% of farms in the USA are regenerative. Regeneratively Speaking is on a mission to support farmers and consumers on their path to a regenerative future.
